Solution Solar Inverter
Over the last six months, my solar battery has changed the way I think about our electricity bill. I installed a 10 kWh solarbatterie beside the inverter after watching too much of our afternoon solar production disappear back to the grid. An electrician finished the wiring in one morning, connected the battery to the existing solar panels, and showed me the app.
The most noticeable difference comes after sunset. Our panels usually fill the battery by mid-afternoon, and the system then runs the refrigerator, lights, router, and heat-pump water heater from stored energy during the expensive evening period. Before the battery, our household used about 8 to 10 kWh from the grid between 5 and 10 p.m. Now that figure is often below 2 kWh. My monthly bill has fallen by roughly €45 in spring and summer, although winter savings are smaller because cloudy days leave less solar energy to store.
I did have one stressful moment. During the first week, the battery stopped discharging at 18 percent even though the app showed plenty of evening demand. I checked the settings and found that backup reserve had accidentally been set to 20 percent during commissioning. After lowering it to 10 percent, discharge resumed immediately. That small issue taught me not to rely blindly on the default solar battery settings.
I like having an emergency reserve, so I keep the minimum charge at 15 percent now. It will not run the whole house during a long outage, but it keeps lights, Wi-Fi, and the refrigerator going for several hours. The battery is not magic, and its upfront cost means I am still waiting for payback. Still, using more of my own solar power, avoiding peak-rate electricity, and seeing the savings in the app makes the investment feel practical rather than theoretical.
