During sunny months, I usually come home with the battery around 80% full. Instead of sending every spare kilowatt-hour to the grid, I keep it for the evening. I found the inverter had switched to backup-only mode after a brief outage. The app showed the warning clearly; I changed the operating mode back to self-consumption, and it resumed within a minute. I appreciated not needing to call anyone.

Since then, I have mostly forgotten it is there, which is probably the best compliment for a solar battery. It quietly charges from solar, stores energy, and carries us through costly hours. I check the poweroad app before cloudy weekends, but no longer obsess over it. For my home, rooftop solar and battery storage makes electricity predictable, not merely greener.
