I installed a 10 kWh LiFePO4 battery beside my inverter last spring, mainly to stop buying expensive evening electricity. My rooftop solar system usually fills it by mid-afternoon, and that simple shift has made a surprisingly noticeable difference to our bills.
Before the battery, our cooker, dishwasher, heat-pump water heater, and lights all ran after sunset, when our tariff was highest. Now the battery supplies those loads from about 5 p.m. until bedtime.
