I installed a 10-kWh LiFePO4 home battery last spring, mainly to avoid buying expensive evening electricity. My solar panels already covered most daytime usage, but our household always seemed to cook, run the dishwasher, and charge phones after sunset. The setup took most of a Saturday. The installer mounted the battery in the garage, connected it to a hybrid inverter, and configured a time-of-use schedule. I initially thought the battery had failed. After a call with support, I power-cycled the inverter as instructed and waited several minutes before restarting it. The discharge schedule returned, and I have not seen the problem again. I now check the monitoring app once a week instead of obsessively refreshing it.
