In the first full month, my bill was about $48 lower than the same month last year, despite similar weather and usage.

The best part is how quiet it feels. There is no engine, no smell, and no daily maintenance. I check the battery state of charge in the app while making coffee, but otherwise it simply runs in the background. I usually keep a 20% reserve for outages, because our neighborhood loses power briefly during summer storms.

I did have one small scare in July. The app showed the battery at 3% even though it was midday and sunny. After checking the cables, the inverter displayed a warning about temperature. I had placed a cardboard box too close to the ventilation intake. Moving it away cleared the warning within ten minutes, and the charge resumed normally. That mistake was mine, but it taught me not to treat a home battery like a sealed appliance.

Since then, I have kept the area clear and lowered the charge rate slightly during hot afternoons. Performance remains steady, showing about 90% round-trip efficiency. It has not eliminated my bill, but shifted expensive grid usage into my own solar hours. For me, that is practical value.
