Solution Solar Battery
Nearly six months ago, I added a solar energy storage battery to my rooftop system, mainly to reduce what I was paying during evening peak hours. My panels were already covering most daytime usage, but once the sun went down, the grid took over just when our house was busiest.
The battery has made the biggest difference between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. We usually run the television, ceiling fans, kitchen appliances, and sometimes the washing machine during that period. Previously, those hours pushed my monthly bill noticeably higher. Now, the battery inverter supplies that stored solar power first, and the grid only steps in after the battery reaches its reserve level. My bill has dropped by roughly 25 to 30 percent, depending on the weather and how much air conditioning we use.
I spent a lot of time comparing battery capacity, warranty terms, and the inverter ka price before buying. I did not choose the largest battery because the extra cost did not make sense for our household. A medium-sized lithium iron phosphate battery suited our evening load better, and I like seeing its charge level in the monitoring app.
The only small issue happened during the first week. The battery stopped discharging at night even though it showed 60 percent remaining. I checked the app and found that the backup reserve had accidentally been set to 60 percent during installation. After lowering that reserve to 20 percent, everything worked normally.
I have also noticed that the solar battery gives us a little peace during short outages. It switches over quickly enough that the lights and Wi-Fi usually stay on. It is not a magic solution, and cloudy days still require grid power, but the daily savings and smoother evening usage make the investment feel worthwhile. My advice is to measure your actual night-time consumption before choosing battery storage.
