Running our solar battery has changed how I use electricity at home. Before installing the system, my evening usage pushed me into expensive peak-hour rates. Now my rooftop panels charge the LiFePO4 battery through the afternoon, and I draw from that stored energy once the sun goes down.
The biggest difference shows up on the bill. My utility charges more from 4–9pm, so I set the battery to discharge during those hours. In the first full month, I saved about $38, which is not dramatic, but it made the investment feel real. During a cloudy week, I saved closer to $20, while sunny weeks have reached $45–$50. I also like that the inverter keeps essential lights, Wi-Fi, and refrigerator running during outages.
