Really, I wasn't sure what to expect when we finally decided to go solar with battery storage. I’ve gotten into the habit of checking the app – it’s quite addictive to see the battery icon showing green, indicating we’re discharging from our own stored energy while the grid price is through the roof. We’ve seen our peak-hour usage charges cut by nearly 80% on days with good sun. It’s not a magic bullet that makes electricity free, of course, but those savings are definitely adding up, and it feels like a smart investment we're already starting to recoup.
