Running my battery after sunset has changed the way I think about electricity bills. That number will vary, but seeing the reduction on the utility statement was satisfying.

My favorite practical detail is how quiet the system is. I hear a faint fan occasionally, but there is no humming through the walls. The battery management system also shows state of charge in the monitoring app, which helps me decide whether to save energy for a cloudy evening.

I did have one minor scare: during a brief outage, the battery did not switch instantly because backup mode had been disabled during a firmware update. I re-enabled it with the installer’s help, and a later outage kept the refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and lights running without interruption.

It has not eliminated my bill, but this solar storage setup makes our renewable energy more useful and peak-hour consumption much less painful.
