Ever since I installed a home battery storage system last spring, my evening electricity routine has changed more than I expected. I contacted the installer the next morning, and they found that the backup reserve setting had accidentally changed to 100 percent. Once I lowered it to 20%, discharge resumed immediately. Since then, I check firmware settings after updates and keep a screenshot of my preferred configuration.
For anyone comparing equipment, I would not chase the biggest battery capacity automatically. My 10-kWh unit is enough for overnight essentials, but not the whole house during a long cloudy stretch.
